  Announcing the winners for 2019 Blue Planet Prize
  
  

  

  Today, we issued a press release announcing the winners of the 28th Blue Planet Prize.

  The winners are
  
  ■ Prof. Eric Lambin (Belgium)
  Professor, Université catholique de Louvain
  George and Setsuko Ishiyama Provostial Professor, Stanford University
  
  ■ Prof. Jared Diamond (USA)
  Professor, Department of Geography University of California, Los Angeles
  Historian, Non-fiction author
  
  
  The commemorative lectures by the winners will be held at the The University of Tokyo on December 12 (Thursday), at the Kyoto University on 14 (Saturday).
