  2017 Blue Planet Prize Commemorative Lectures held
  
  On October 19, the award recipients delivered commemorative lectures at U Thant International Conference Hall at the United Nations University in Tokyo.
  
  In the first section, Prof. Hans J. Schellnhuber presented a lecture on the topic of "Out of the Ice, into the Fire?" which will be followed by a question-and-answer session moderated by Dr. Seita Emori, Leader of Low-Carbon Research Program, Center for Global Environmental Research, National Institute for Environmental Studies.
  
  
  
  
  In the second section, Prof. Gretchen C. Daily presented a lecture on the topic of "Harmonizing People and Nature" followed by a question-and-answer session moderated by Prof. Takayuki Ohgushi, Emeritus Professor, Kyoto University.
